a few of my favorite words

Not as much as a writer, but as a reader, I love words.

I love the way some sound, the way some look, and the ideas behind others.

I like learning the equivalent of a word in a different language (especially if that word is cat) (the most important word in any language), and my brain can’t fully comprehend that people think and dream in a language different than my own.

What I’m saying is that words are pretty awesome (even if my pronunciation is not.) (Ask my mother about hyperboles some time.)

So, here are some of my favorite words.

• Clamberer

• Sconces

• L’oeuf

(Pronounced le-EEEewf) (French for the egg.) (This is important.)

• Bungalow

• Chatoyant

(A French verb that means “to shine like a cat’s eyes” .)

• Elixir

• Eloquence

• Opulent

• Scrumptious

• Wherewithal

(I literally have no clue why I like this word.)

• Audacity

• Peckish

• Skedaddle

• Winsome

• Discombobulate

• Growlery

(A place to retreat to, alone, when ill-humored.) (Basically a place to growl.)

• Neat

(As in cool, not tidy.)

• Defenestration

(The action of throwing someone or something out of a window.) (The fact that we have a word for this makes me wonder many things.)

•Seep

(This is almost as bad as moist.) (I love it.)
