epilogue (or prologue 2.0)

When I posted in the summer before my senior year of college in 2022, I didn’t think I was about to go on a two year hiatus from any and all personal writing projects.

(this obviously is what happened) (for a variety of reasons*).

* (starting and finishing my thesis project in which I decided that I should literally write and illustrate an entire graphic novel, having multiple mini breakdowns when I realized mid-project how insane this was, finding a job at a museum and then realizing I needed an apartment to move into ASAP, graduating, finding another job (at a bar this time) to help pay for said apartment, developing a massive crush on a coworker at said bar—which I blame for impeding creative processes more than anything else on this list, changing jobs and schedules several more times, and just recently moving into a new, less expensive apartment building with my coworker-crush-neighbor)

To rectify this mistake and to deal with the monotony of my first summer without a break, I’m blogging again! (yay!)

Things look a little different for those of you who have been here before, but when you click around, I think you’ll see that it’s unimpressingly similar to exactly what it was before. My three major post categories (thoughts, research, portfolio) are like a scale from least professional and polished to most, and everything in ca. 2017-2022 is my pre-hiatus blogging era.

(if you read any of the posts from before I’m begging you to be kind to me) (I was a CHILD) (also my posts now are going to be exactly the same, I’m just going to be using words like dichotomy, verisimilitude, and juxtaposition, so the joke’s on all of us).

As a clean-ish slate for my blog, I hope to use this space to burn off my creative excess like I did previously, so I’ll make sure to give you 50-some posts before I go on another indefinite hiatus.
